Today, the town is an important centre for training within music, dance, media, finance, culture, tourism and pedagogy. Falun is where leading technologies within areas such as games development, virtual reality and 3 D are developed. One of Europe’s most modern media houses has just been built at the Dalregementet Business Park for education and business. A creative and inspiring environment for training, research and business has been created here.

The University of Dalarna educates students in both Falun, the neighbouring town Borlänge and in sites throughout the world. Around 6,000 students are at present enrolled in one of the 50 training programmes and 200 courses. Research is also undertaken here in collaboration with the community and various businesses and you will find many foreign students due to the university’s international interests.
