Sustainable development is divided into three dimensions: economy/growth, public health and the environment. These parts are of equal importance and a prerequisite for each other.

Approximately 150 goals, along with their plans of action, have been collected in three goal programs. It is these goals we want to reach within economic growth, public health and the environment. The program is a result of collaboration between the Municipality of Falun and other important players within each area. An annual follow-up is compiled in the report "Utvecklingen i Falun" (Development in Falun).
